About Manchester

Manchester is UK’s third largest conurbation after Birmingham and London, and considered today as the centre of arts, media, higher eduction and commerce of the North UK.

Being home to 2 world class football clubs, namely Manchester United and Manchester City, it is the third most visted city in the United Kingdom by foreign visitors.

The city was also known as ‘Cottonpolis’ during the 19th century Industrial Revolution and into the early 20th Century. Engineering and Chemical firms fledged to the city and made the city a highly worked and populated area around the time.

The mid 1990s was spurred by heavy investmets from various sources and machester started its extensive regeneration into one of the most desireable cities for working, entertainment and studying. New complexes such as The Printworks and the Triangle have become popular shopping and entertainment destinations. The Manchester Arndale is Uk’s largest city centre shopping mall.
